Hi – I am trying to either make a custom menu on the front page, or remove teh menu all together, but since this front page isnt actually a “page” I can’t find the id to hide it.
Can anyone help?

Do you want to completely remove the main navigation?

June 9, 2016 at 12:42 pm #36601Hi Melissa,
Okay, but how can user reach to About us page or other inner pages?
Regards,
DaveJune 9, 2016 at 12:47 pm #36605That’s what my slider is for 🙂 it would act as a splash page – when users click on teh read more – it would take them to the appropriate page.
The main page is the same site as my portrait photography – hence why the menu needs to be available on all the other pages (the about, portfolio, contact us etc)
If it is easier – I would also be happy with being able to design a custom menu for that one page only.
June 9, 2016 at 1:09 pm #36609Hi,
Using conditional tags you can load up a separate menu via header.php on front page and separate on all inner pages.
A bit of coding needs to be done for this.

I have found plugins to use custom menus, but I cant get them to work with this theme.I have also found many codes that hide menus on pages. but since this themes “home page” is not an actual “page” I cant find the page Id to identify in order to hide the menu

BradJune 10, 2016 at 12:07 pm #36729all good – once I learned what the front page and the menu were called in the inspect element. I was able to add the line of code I needed. not exactly worth 9$
