Customising / Turning off Bakery Theme section fade ins

The different homepage sections fade in when scrolling down the page by default. I have chosen homepage slider images that do not fill the entire screen so that the first “welcome” section can be seen as soon as the page loads.
However, the first section does not fade in until you scroll down meaning that there is an ugly white section beneath the homepage slider.
Can I turn off the FadeIn animation for the first section please? (Moreover, is it possible to change the fade in animations for the other sections?)
