innerbanner only display when picture

Hello,
when I use posts without postpicture so I don’t want that the place for the picure is reserved empty. When there is a picture, then I wan’t to see it. I still used .innerbanner{display:none;} in css, then space is not reserved, but there is no more displayed picture in innerbanner. How I can reach???

So you are currently not displaying the inner banner image and it doesn’t show up either.

So what is the problem in this case?
