a. in customise/basic/fonts the font editing areas are not labelled? you have to guess what font group you are editing
b. the menu font sizes are not changing when you update the size value but the menu position is changing (up and down), likewise the drop down menu is opening down the page not under the top menu text
please advise

Ans: I can’t understand a thing what you are saying.

B. the menu font sizes are not changing when you update the size value but the menu position is changing (up and down), likewise the drop down menu is opening down the page not under the top menu text??
Ans: Kindly go to Appearance >> Customize >> Basic >> Scroll down to find Custom CSS and paste there:
#topmenu ul li a {
font-size: 15px;
}
#topmenu ul li {
line-height: 15px;
}
