Hi
I’m trying to translate the texts in the slider on the homepage.
WPML Translate Shortcode helped me with the other texts in the sections. But how can I do the translation of the slider? I use WPML for the rest of the site.
Thank you
TomJanuary 12, 2016 at 12:17 pm #18413You have to kindly use WPML shortcode for this purpose.
Kindly view this video where we have used qTranslate X plugin for this purpose: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vRrVr8waiH4

ShriJanuary 12, 2016 at 12:46 pm #18416Hm, thanks first… I watched your video.
For me it is no option to replace WPML – So I’m not sure if its good to use more than one multilanguage plugins at once. Any experience with that?
I can not see for the moment to use 2 language selectors for example…Thanks,
TomJanuary 12, 2016 at 1:42 pm #18422Hi,
I am not asking you to change the plugin. Similar to qTranslate X WPML also has shortcodes.
Ask them to provide the same and you can use them to change the language for theme options as well.

ShriJanuary 12, 2016 at 2:37 pm #18429Hi,
I tried with “WPML Translate Shortcode”, but the fields in the slider settings take them as text not as code. So shortcodes will be displayed in the slider frontend, not translated to code and used… The problem is therefor not at wpml but in the theme-settings…
And no, wpml has no native shortcodes actually.
Thanks,

TomJanuary 15, 2016 at 10:03 am #18745Hi Tom,
You can use plugins: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wpml-translate-shortcode/

ShriJanuary 15, 2016 at 2:39 pm #18771Hi Shri,
sorry, but I already wrote (January 12, 2016 at 2:37 pm), that I tested this exactly with the plugin you mentioned.
And it doesn’t work, because the slider takes the shortcodes not as code and shows them as written text…
I use the plugin for the sections on the homepage where it works fine…Thx Tom

ShriJanuary 22, 2016 at 5:45 pm #19798Hi,
I just kicked the nivoslider included with the theme and installed an alternative one (meta slider)…
That one works with the WPML translations fine…thx anyway,
