Making changes to slider “read more” button text caused slider to change format and disappear.

I have changed the first slides image – removed the Title and the Description.
I modified the button text to contain the following:
<b>CROSS Food Pantry</b><br />Read more
The button appears in the SKT Theme Customize “preview” in the Word Press Dashboard. It was published, but the button is not displaying at the published site URL.
I removed Title and Description text because only the button has a modifiable Background-Color style.

I noticed also that the slider is not working in production but in the dashboard the slider does change to slides 2 and 3 still in the SKT customize preview.
Changing Slide Button 1 from “Read More” to different text causes the button to lose all styling. I have not yet published.
So when installing the SKT Theme it created a page at http://www.mydomain.com/ but I do not see it in the “pages” section of word press. It is on the appearance>theme> customize page – and I can customize it there, but I do not see where to delete the page or to manage the text/content of this page.
I will check out the documentation.
Why isn’t the default page at the root of the domain selectable in the Word Press dashboard > pages> section?
After copying this code to another page like a new home page – is it possible to delete the page at http://www.mysite.com/? It is the page that the SKT theme added all content to after installed, like the image slider and other cool features.
When viewing Appearance > Customize… My WYSIWYG editor is not displaying the website.
I have the SKT side bar with options like header, front page and footer, but the right hand side of the page is not displaying any content. The tab for the window says “Customize: loading…”.
I am using wordpress 4.8.2
I have installed the SKT education theme and I am at this point now where appearance > customize does not show the WYSIWYG editor (content) on the right side of screen.
