Yes I still want access to the theme.
I need access to the new theme as well. I can not download from my old link.
I could camp on this all day long and assure you flat design or other don’t benefit the end user for usability.
I’ve been using wordpress themes probably longer than you’ve been making them.
Okay so if I download now then it will be the updated version correct?
Since I keep getting emails about other peoples problems with the theme.
Has the theme been updated?
Will it affect my current content from the previous one?
The reason I ask is you limit the amount of downloads one can make from a purchase although updates should be free.
Thanks
You obviously are not following on the same wave length. That is the point I made in my last post. I don’t edit majority of my sites in text mode I edit them all in visual mode because this is a cleaner view of my edits and it is easier to keep up with.
Greg was asking for clarification on how the links were fixed to solve the problems I was having. However I was never told how it was fixed the only thing I was told was there was lot of jibberish in the code yet I never seen it on my end in visual or text.
My links are working fine right now but who knows how long that will last because. Logically I should be able to save in text or visual and the short code work. But obviously that can’t happen because you didn’t set the theme to work the same as the millions before it.
The whole point of shortcodes was to be able to add elements to your page without having to switch back and forth between visual and text modes.
If this don’t work correctly then the developers need to get it updated to work like it was designed to do.
I’ve never had this much trouble from a theme unless the theme was just completely dilapidated.
Anytime I have ever used shortcodes was in visual mode. Now while you can add it in text/html mode visual was suppose to keep you from having to switch back and forth between the two modes when making edits to your post or pages.
This is what I see in my section editor
[carousel][carousel_content title=”Assembly” image=”http://handymanservicesmemphis.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/Assembling.jpg” link=”http://handymanservicesmemphis.com/assembly/”]Assembling items such as desks, shelves and other project kits can be quite burdensome for some.[/carousel_content]
The only thing I can think of to tell you is make sure that you write all the link info in visual mode with the short code. I’m not 100% certain but I think short codes must be saved in visual mode to work correctly.
Its just a hunch so try it and see.
I hope so because I won’t be able to sell this site and business if not. The next user if they have less experience than me it’s going to be a pain in my rear to deal with them on an everyday basis.
I realize that replacing the “Link Here” with the actual url is the correct way. This isn’t my first website. I’ve been doing this since 2005 however it is a challenge to navigate individual developer themes when they add elements in the code that can’t be edited because they failed to give the end user all the information to edit those elements such is the case with the read more links on this theme.
Adding ( link=”Link Here” ) didn’t do anything for that at all. The read more when hovering over it show handymanservicesmemphis.com/# and that is it no link was created anywhere I could find in the carousel for that.
How come the shortcode does not include the ( link=”Link Here” ) Because its not there in the shortcode. So until its fixed people will forever be asking the question I asked about it.
I don’t think you’re following what I’m saying.
What I want to do is this.
I want to edit the read more links in the carousel to go to specific pages I have set up. Each one of my carousel sections is a page I’ve added to my site. So when a user clicks on the readmore link they’re taken to that specific page.
Do you follow what I’m saying?
Never mind I took care of it myself by using a shortcode posted in one of the other themes having the same issue.
I didn’t expect this to go ignored since it is an issue with the theme shortcode that comes installed when theme is installed.
You should consider updating the shortcode issues with the contact forms on the Handyman theme to avoid future problems and redundant support request for the same issues over and over again.
Okay I’ve tried all I know to do for getting the quote button to show correctly like the demo for my site. To no avail it just sets my image inside the css of the default button. Should I comment out the css of the quote button so that it don’t show? Or what do you suggest?
