Got it. Abandoned JetPack social buttons — now using ShareThis. TY!
August 14, 2015 at 2:13 am in reply to: JetPack Social Sharing Buttons: Broken on Blog Main Page #10236Hi Shri – Thanks for this! I tried inserting suggested workaround code in several tests in the Theme Functions (functions.php). It’s currently here:
<a href=”http://www.kktest.com/wp-admin/upload.php?item=976″ title=”www.kktest.com Theme Functions code”>
Sadly, the icons still don’t seem to be fixed on the Blog overview page: http://www.kktest.com/reimbursement-resources/reimbursement-insights-blog/
Is my code set in the correct location? Correct syntax?
Any other suggestions to fix this?
Thanks for your help! All is well, Shri — I sized the feature images for all blog photos for a 2-column width template in the blog – 640 pixels seems to be ideal for the space (and for SEO), so I’ll stick with that for blog posts. http://www.kktest.com/reimbursement-resources/reimbursement-insights-blog/
TY!Hi Shri – When I began site development in May, I wasn’t having speed problems (as I noted in this thread on May 14th). Unfortunately now it IS very slow to respond — although I’m running v2.0. This is a relatively small site (~80 pages/posts total), with only a few plugins — nothing extraordinary.
http://www.kktest.com/I will send you an email with full admin access — hopefully you can help me resolve.
TY!
KKOK – Thanks — look forward to seeing your advice! KK
I do not have this problem with this theme on Bluehost. Have you tried clearing your site cache? (Not the browser, but through WP admin?) Installation and configuration of plug-ins, etc to your server can slow things down considerably)
Shri — You mention in your email to me that some Google fonts are a problem. Apparently, the one I wanted to use for some titles (Cabin) is one of those with a problem. (I cleared cached and rechecked it on Win/Chrome, Win/Firefox, Win/IE and it still doesn’t work correctly.)
Perhaps you could either: List below the fonts we should avoid…
…or list fonts you recommend with this theme (those that you feel confident will display as intended)?
I’ll research and test others on my own, anyway, but it would be helpful for others if you can point us to a list of fonts with known issues (or if you are aware of any we shouldn’t bother to try.)TY so much! KK
OK…I’ll set it at that aspect ratio. However, I’m still a bit confused. The space available for a standard blog/post feature image looks like it’s only 680pixels wide, maximum. Why would we want to set embedded feature images so much wider — 1600 pixel width? Just curious. TY!
Sure, will do. TY!
Hi – No worries, Shri. Here’s the site url: www.kktest.com
I’m confused by your reply — dimensions for blog post feature images typically aren’t square…
I need to know ideal pixel width and height for inserting a feature image into your standard post (and page) templates. Other themes I’ve used typically provide that information in documentation, but I can’t find yours…(Example: Expound Theme has a large feature image default of 460×260. Other themes suggest a standard width, but will adjust the height.)
Thanks in advance for your help!
