Yes it is fully compatible.

ShriIts not the way you are doing it. Create a page named Blog: And assign the template: Blog full width.
Now view this page and you should be able to see the blog posts (no need to copy and paste posts in pages).
Also in order to show Blog in the menu go to Appearance>Menus and add the new Blog page into Menu and save.

You can hide the sections.
Kindly go to Appereance>>Theme Option>>Sections>>Section1
You will find hide section option. Do it for the sections you want to hide.
