Selective removal means having separate mobile CSS. The background does not look odd or bad either on mobile.

ShriYour local host isn’t working properly or the theme isn’t getting added. Try to unzip it directly in wp-content/themes folder instead and then activate it via appearance>themes section within WordPress admin panel.
