Hello Everyone !!
I’m Monika Rao and working with Brainstorm Force as Product Manager. I’ve been associate with WordPress since 2015 and I love to be a part of this community.
Hobbies are travelling, explore and learn new things in life.
Life before WordPress, take me back to my college years which was super fun and exciting.
Q. How did you get to know about WordPress? Share if there is an interesting story.
Ans: The first time I came to know about WordPress was during my graduation (like it’s an open-source CMS to help building websites). After my graduation, I got an opportunity to build my career in WordPress as a Quality analyst. Therefore, I started exploring WordPress to intensify my skills to develop and test the website.
From that moment, I decided to make it part of my life. WordPress is not just a tool that can be used to simplify website building, but also a platform where you can meet new people, share your thoughts, and learn from them.
Q. What’s the most interesting project you have done to date in WordPress? What were your responsibilities?
Ans: The most interesting project is my contribution from Theme Review to Noteworthy Contributors and the experience was amazing. I’ve learned lot of things during my contribution.
Q. Have you ever been to any WordPress meetups or WordCamps? Share your thoughts on WordPress Community.
Ans: Yes, I’ve been a part of many WordCamp and meetups. I participated as Organizer, Volunteer and Speaker.
WordPress has solid community with active contributors from all over the world. And, this is a fantastic way to build and explore your skills. It gives you a platform to learn and share your experiences with others.
Q. What interesting feature do you think you would like to see in WordPress and is currently missing?
Ans: WordPress should pay more attention to Security & Vulnerability. Also, I believe to improve the Block Editor experience for users.
Q. Out of the current plugins and themes which one do you like the most and why?
Ans: I like the Astra Theme, because it’s light-weight and easy to use with any page builder.
And, Starter Template plugin which allows to build a website without any knowledge of code or designs skill.
Q. Any awesome technology you want to share other than WordPress?
Ans: I would like to recommend Jira tool for project management. It is best tool for agile software development.
Q. Do you like/love what you currently do in WordPress?
Ans: There is no chance that I’ll stop working with WordPress.
WordPress has given me so much, and I will always try to give back as much as I can to the community. And therefore, I can say I also feel proud to be a part of this community.
Q. Where do you find yourself after 5 years
Ans: In the next 5 years, I would like to be recognised as an expert in this sector. Also, I want to spend more time with my family and travelling.
Q. Share something about your life other than work
Ans: I love to explore new places and food with my life partner. I love watching new movies and Web-series.
I’m very keen on knowing about new technologies and inventions.
And, Cooking is favourite thing to do in free time.
Q. To whom you give credit for your success?
Ans: I want to give credit to God, My Parents and specially my life partner who gave me a chance to prove myself and teach me a lesson at every phase of life.
Another person Puneet Sahalot (Unfortunately he is no more with us)who always motivate me and encourage to do something great in the life.
Q. Can you give us some reference for whom we should conduct an interview next and why?
Ans: I would suggest Anne McCarthy and Francesca Marano. They both are doing an amazing job and motivating more women to involve in the community.
Q. How do you reward yourself?
Ans: I reward myself to discover beautiful places around the world.
Q. Any suggestion for WordPress beginners?
Ans: Meetups and WordCamp are great way to start and explore various things in WordPress.
